Community-Driven Project Management

In the future, we plan to transition FEARBASE into a community-governed project. This shift will empower the community to make decisions regarding data contributions and access. To facilitate this transition, we are developing a tool that will enable effective community self-management.

For Non-Community Members

  • Data Contribution
    • Submit data through a specialized submission mask
    • Ensures compliance with FEARBASE (meta)data standards
    • Accepted submissions grant automatic community membership
  • Research Proposal Submission
    • Develop research ideas based on existing FEARBASE data
    • Submit access requests for review by the community
    • Community ensures no duplicate studies are approved
      • Prevents multiple teams from conducting identical studies and therefore conserves research resources by avoiding redundant work

For Community Members

  • Data Control
    • Retain decision-making power over personal data access and usage
  • Quality Assurance
    • Contribute to maintaining high data quality standards
    • Improve fear-conditioning research through collective efforts

By implementing this community-centric model, FEARBASE aims to create a collaborative, efficient, and high-quality research ecosystem in the field of fear-conditioning.
